21.5.2008 New passenger traffic between Helsinki-St.Petersburg-Helsinki

With effect of yesterday, the 20th of May 2008, Stella Company Group has finalized the deal with the Norwegian Color Line Transport AS, subsidiary of Color Line AS of the purchase of M/S Christian IV in order to start the regular passenger traffic on route Helsinki-St.Petersburg-Helsinkilater on in the summer 2008. The current plans are that the vessel would be under Finnish flag and her name would be changed. M/S Christian IV is currently sailing on a regular traffic between Norway and Denmark.

Stella Company Group is aiming that this new route and novelty service on the Finnish and Russian ferry market will raise interest among private and business travelers, as it opens up a new connection channel between the two countries. Moreover, the aim is to create a nice atmosphere, different services for all age groups, restaurants and bars to satisfy all tastes.

27.04.2007 New vessel into STELLA LINES service

We are pleased to inform You that Stella Lines Oy Ltd is taking into its service a fourth vessel in mid-May:

Stella Lines has currently M/V Polaris sailing between Kotka-Hamburg-Bremerhaven-Kotka for ro-ro, break bulk, project and containerised cargo. M/S Breant will join, M/V Polaris enabling expansion of the Line into a wider traffic area in the Gulf of Finland. The new capacity will, as well enable more regular sailing between the current ports.

17.01.2007 STELLA LINES Sling 2

Stella Lines has expanded its service to cover a second sling. Sling 2 has been introduced in addition to Sling 1, the 8-day service between Kotka-Bremerhaven-Hamburg-Kotka with M/V Polaris.

Sling 2 consist of weekly Friday sailings from Bremerhaven, Germany to Hamina and Kotka, Finland, the latter on the basis of subject inducement. The vessels in this service are M/V Midas and M/V Alteland. Cargo mix includes all types of Ro-Ro, break bulk and project cargo.

20.09.2006 STELLA LINES, new feeder service Finland-Germany

We are pleased to inform that STELLA LINES(member of Stella Company Group) will officially start on the 1st of November 2006 new Ro-Ro and liner, container, break bulk/project cargo feeder service between Finland and Germany. The new line will call Port of Hamburg and Port of Bremerhaven in Germany, as well Port of Kotka in Finland. Yellow Star Line will bring to the Finnish market a new service, with new rotation:

27.06.2006 New Transatlantic Express Service offered by Zim Integrated Shipping Services

Starting from the beginning of August 2006, Zim Integrated Shipping Services is offering a new Transatlantic Express Service between North European Ports and the USA East Coast together with Italia Maritima Spa.

The new North Europe-USA Express Service (NEX) will deploy four vessels of about 1800 TEUs capacity on a frequency of weekly sailings.

The service will offer direct calls with following rotation:

Antwerp-Hamburg-Liverpool-New York-Norfolk-Savannah-Antwerp

The first westbound sailing for cargo from Scandinavia via Hamburg will take place beginning of August 2006.

22.02.2006, updated 26.06.2006 Narva Line, new Ropax ferry between Kotka-Sillamäe-Kotka

The Estonian ship owner, Saaremaa Shipping Company began new ropax traffic operations between Kotka, Finland and Sillamäe, Estonia in the spring of 2006. Stella Naves Oy Ltd has been appointed as the Estonian ship owner’s Finnish agent.

Sillamäe is located on the Eastern part of Estonia, nearby Narva and it is the EU´s most eastern port, located only 25 km from the EU-Russian border. The port of Kotka, is the second largest port of Finland and specialized mainly to serve the Finnish wood-processing industry as export channel for finished products and as an import channel for raw materials, as well for transit operations to/from Russia and CIS.

The new ropax traffic, Narva Line, between Sillamäe and Kotka is operated year along as a six times per week service. The vessel in service is M/S Vironia, formerly known as M/S Star Wind, which belonged to Silja Line group and used to operate for instance between Helsinki and Tallinn. In the beginning of November 2005 the vessel was transferred into Estonian ownership, Euroshipping LLC and went through renovation, getting new interior and outer finishing.

The first trial voyage of M/S Vironia on the Sillamäe-Kotka-Sillamäe route has been on the 22nd of February 2006. In the beginning of the service, the focus has been placed on the Ro-Ro cargo traffic. It has been estimated that on this route 20,000 trucks could be carried yearly. The passenger traffic started in the mid of March 2006. The first months of the traffic, the line operated only three times per week both ways and since beginning of June 2006 it has developed to six departures per week, both from Kotka and Sillamäe.

01.02.2006 Co-operation between SolNiver Lines and Stella Stevedorica

Stella Stevedorica Oy Ltd is having co-operation with SolNiver Lines, Sweden and offering stevedoring services for the SolNiver vessels .

The co-operation started on the 1st of February 2006, the first SolNiver vessel arriving on the 16th of February to the main port of Kotka, Finland.

SolNiver is providing fortnightly services between Northern Europe and various Mediterranean ports, including some Northern African ports, having four conventional vessels operating in the service. Cargoes carried are mainly break bulk: timber, paper and plywood products.
